Myanmar’s Rakhine faces rising hunger amid US aid reductions and civil war blockades
The UN’s World Food Programme has warned of a “dramatic rise in hunger” in Myanmar’s conflict-hit Rakhine state after US aid cuts pushed by President Donald Trump. Blockades, ongoing fighting, and reduced international funding have left over half of families unable to meet basic food needs, threatening to spiral into a full-blown humanitarian disaster.
