Russian and Chinese navies begin joint drills in Sea of Japan

Russia and China began joint naval drills in the Sea of Japan on Sunday as they seek to reinforce their "no-limits" strategic partnership – signed shortly before Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The drills take place two days after US President Donald Trump announced he had deployed two nuclear submarines to “the appropriate regions” in response to comments by former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev.
