Spain: Deadly wildfires kill at least three people

In just a week, dozens of forest fires have burned through 60 000 hectares as record heatwaves, combined with strong winds and dry conditions, have ravaged the country.

Wildfires have already devastated parts of Castilla y León, Extremadura, the Comunitat Valenciana, Asturias, Madrid, Cádiz and Toledo among other areas.

The extreme summer heat and the consequent wildfires are, according to scientists, due to human-driven climate change.
