The Bright Side: Thousands of carpets sunbathe at Turkey resort to temper their hues

Antalya (Turkey) (AFP) – During the summer, thousands of colourful carpets and kilim rugs lie on the bare ground of an area the size of about 56 football fields just outside the coastal city of Antalya in the south of Turkey. The goal of the practice is to dry the fabric's natural vegetable dyes into the desired shade and remove any unwanted elements before they are sent to Istanbul and its historic Grand Bazaar.
