Turkey battles wildfires, arrests suspects as heatwave grips Mediterranean

Firefighters battled wildfires across Turkey on Monday amid a scorching heatwave sweeping the Mediterranean. The fires have caused at least 14 deaths in the past week, forced the evacuation of around 20 villages, and displaced over 3,500 people. Authorities arrested suspects after spotting them carrying bottles filled with petrol, raising concerns about deliberate arson. FRANCE 24’s Jasper Mortimer has more from the region.
